ALBUQUERQUE (April 17) -- Manufacturing expert Sarah Boisvert has joined the founding team of fab.ai – the first breakthrough venture to enter Roadrunner Venture Studios in Albuquerque, NM.

fab.ai will tap into Sarah’s extensive advanced manufacturing background as the company launches a curated AI model specific to digital fabrication. With a “Mentor on Your Shoulder,” fab.ai provides accurate data to enable CAD design, Design for Manufacturing, 3D-printer operation, and a myriad of other functions.

“I’m impressed by the breadth and depth of the fab.ai model,” explains Boisvert. “Before meeting Michael Howard and his exceptional team, I didn’t think much of the AI hype. But now they have demonstrated to me how powerful Large Language Models can be trained to assist anyone from novice to expert to increase yields, improve quality, and lower costs in Additive Manufacturing. fab.ai can actually speed the process from AI text prompt to product which is a game-changer for advanced manufacturing, but also other industries that fabricate products.”

Boisvert’s staff at the New Collar Network facility at the Santa Fe Higher Education Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico has been instrumental in adding to the Corpus or Body of Knowledge and in 3D Printing test pieces. She has also brought in Navajo Technical University (NTU) in Crownpoint, NM as a partner. Boisvert reiterates that Scott Halliday at NTU has some of the most extensive metal 3D printing expertise in the country and brings a metal production focus to fab.ai.

“Sarah is a critical member of the fab.ai founding team,” Michael Howard, CEO and Co-Founder of fab.ai said. “She brings a wealth of manufacturing knowledge to our work to bring the promise of ‘prompt to product’ to life. ”

Sarah is a co-founder of Potomac Photonics, Inc. that invented and manufactured lasers used in LASIK eye surgery and laser micromachining of medical devices such as coronary stents. She is a Fellow and Past President of the Laser Institute of America, and an Ambassador for America Makes, the national 3D Printing Institute.
